Ride Start Locations Week of March 26th

Hi Folks,

I've been getting word that there is a bit of confusion as to where the ride start locations will be this week.  The Right Gear is in the process of moving as we speak, but they won't be fully operational for a few days yet.  I have spoken with Jim O' this morning, and this is what we've come up with:

Tuesday Pizza Ride - Unchanged

Thurday March 29th - 6 PM Start from OLD location (Cloverleaf Plaza) with OLD Route
Saturday March 31st - 8 AM Start from OLD location (Cloverleaf Plaza) with OLD Route

After April 1, The Thursday and Saturday Ride will start from the NEW location with NEW routes

Please pass this info along to all who might come out to the rides.

If you have any questions let me know!

Officer Nominations

ALL C4 Members,

The time has arrived when we must say "Thank you for your time and hard work" to some of our club officers.  Therefore we are requesting nominations for the open officer positions. It was decided by the officers to stagger the departure times of club officers to maintain consistency.  The following officers have agreed remain through the end of 2012 serving three years in their current positions, moving forward each position will be held for two years:.

Remaining Officers are:
Matt Hartman, Web master
Bryan Dill, Treasurer
Tyler Dilling, Ride Coordinator
Sandy Hileman, Event Coordinator

The following positions are open for nomination submission; please submit your nominations by November 18, 2011:

President*- Maintains club insurance and association requirements, leads club meetings, general club business & by laws
Vice President* - Maintains membership forms, assists with general club business.
Scribe - Maintains meeting notes and agenda, prepares and sends club communications
Ride Coordinator 2- Works together with other ride coordinator to schedule rides, assign ride lead/sweeps, and cancel club rides due to weather

*Note:  This position might be asked to serve an additional year in order to split the President/Vice President election schedule.

Once all nominations have been made each nominated club member will be asked to confirm their availability and agreement for the role for which they were nominated.  Once the nominations have been confirmed we will request the club members vote on each open officer position up for election.  You will have two weeks to reply with your vote.  After the New Year we will schedule a club social event and announce and welcome the new club officers.

Please join me in thanking our departing officers, Shawn Fleming, David Pinard, Kevin Laws and Dustin Wilson for their outstanding leadership over the last two years.

Winter/Fall Ride Changes

Hi Folks,

It's the time of year when the light dims early and the temperatures start to plummet.   So its time to switch over to our Fall/Winter ride routines.

1) This coming Monday (10/24) will be the LAST week for the Cabarrus Creamery Family ride at 6pm.

2) The Tuesday TouchDown Pizza Ride is officially suspended.

We plan on repacing it with organized trainer sessions like we did last year.  We are still working out the venue and timing, so keep an eye out for an email on that.

3) The Thursday TRG ride has also been suspended.

We will be meeting up at the Huntersville Business Park on Thursdays to ride through the winters. Riders start showing up after work between 5 and 6 and ride until 7:30 or 8, depending on the day. If you have never been to the business park, its a safe and lighted industrial park loop that attracts cyclists from all over the city.  You can find it on the maps here:

Larger groups generally form after the time changes, and especially after the first of the year.  There have been evenings in the past when there have 150 cyclists rounding the loop.  Skill levels range from hybrid riders to racing pros, so it's a place where everyone can ride at their own pace.  This is not an organized C4 ride, but a place where everyone congregates and suffers through the cold winter nights.

4) The Saturday SAMBO Ride is still leaving at 8 AM as always.  Later in the winter season as the temperatures get much lower we will switch to a 10 AM start time, so keep an eye out for that email.

5) The Go with the Flowe Ride is now active and has a solid following on Sundays at 2PM.  Great route and good roads.
